Owning a cycle is not a big deal these days, but one should even have the interest to know about their cycle. By knowing about their cycle it would benefit them any time in future.
A cycle comprises of varied cycle parts. Spare parts assembled together make a cycle, and if one part does not function it can easily affect the functioning of other parts as well. Therefore, one must be careful while using the cycle, may it be for any kind of purpose. By knowing, how every spare part functions, it would help the cyclist to repair it in case it can be handled temporarily. Cycle parts have to be maintained as well, for long life. Oiling and greasing the part would keep them going for long time. The working of all the cycle parts in combination, allows the cyclist to rejoice the ride.
In order to buy and experience adventure on cycle, it becomes necessary to maintain the cycle. However, to maintain a good bicycle, cyclists need to understand what each bicycle part does. Although they might seem trivial when seen separately, but definitely they are all important to the proper functioning of the cycle. Moreover, when running in combination, they produce thrill and experience, one cannot afford to miss. Know about various cycle parts:
Brakes: They are known as danger survivors, basically used to speed down the bicycle. They can be easily controlled by brake levers that are mounted on the handlebars. However, they have to be greased regularly, for smooth movement. They need to be tightened as when they loosen, so that they can be applied at the right moment.
Chain: It provides the propelling action in the bike, which helps the cyclist move ahead. It transfers the power from the pedals to the wheels, and this propelling action moves the cycle forward. Recently, new set of chains have been introduced that could provide gearing mechanism to the bicycles. However, in order to achieve good speed, one needs to lubricate i.e. apply grease on the chain of the bicycle from time to time, or else they would get rusted, and would be of no use for the cyclist.
Wheels: Bicycles run on wheels. The wheel pair consists of an outer rim that is connected to the central focal point using spokes, which rotates when the chain moves. A nut is used to tighten the spokes at both ends, so that the wheels function perfectly.
